XL Insurance Company held a dinner on May 6, 2009 in Calgary for the Board of Directors of the McGannon Foundation and invited former students to whom we have awarded scholarships. Following the dinner, Graham Addington, Sales and Marketing VP for XL presented Bill McGannon with a cheque for $10,000 as part of their ongoing commitment to the Foundation.
Scholarship recipients Christine Dowling, Tim Ackerman and Alex Hews attended and we were impressed with their poise, professionalism and potential as they have now embarked on their risk management and insurance careers. Thanks to Graham and the other XL staff in attendance - Bill Stephens, Denis Schaeffer, Liana Martire, Nathalie Durante and Anton Antonov for hosting the event and allowing us to 'close the loop' with former students we have supported.
