Welcome

It is with a great sense of pride and accomplishment that I send this message to you on behalf of the Board of Directors. The last twelve months have been unprecedented in the world of risk management globally. Every business, both for profit and non profit has had it’s financial challenges. However, the McGannon Foundation fared quite well and our financial balance sheet is stable and poised for growth.

As usual, the Foundation has been very active. We granted four scholarships in 2009, including another John Faulds Memorial scholarship of $5000 to a worthy postgraduate student JA Haeck from Quebec. Total scholarship awarded totaled $12,500.00. our support of Junior Achievement grew in 2009 with the launching of the Vancouver student career day. We gave $7500.00 to J.A. to promote our profession to students embarking on their career choices.

It is truly a historic moment for the Foundation with the launching of our first Student Involvement Program in St. John’s. we are proud to present to our community, Jana Harding from Memorial University and Andrew Barker from the University of Calgary. I hope you get an opportunity to meet them!

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to sincerely thank our perpetual donors, our supporters and the recipients of our scholarships and awards for making this year another success year. Lastly, I wish to acknowledge our Board members for their dedication and energy for continuing to make the Foundation flourish, even in troubling times as we find ourselves presently.

Thank You,
Joe Restoule
President
